Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position

This position is responsible for the third party billing for a variety of agencies and monitors collections for application to student accounts. Other responsibilities includes composing various correspondence, preparing reports and reconciliations for management and reporting on various GA reports.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit

The University Treasurer’s Office is organized as a unit of the Division of Business & Finance with direct reporting responsibilities to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Business & Finance/Comptroller. The University Treasurer’s Office has the functional responsibilities for the following operations: cash receipting and control; student accounts receivable; accounting for Foundation housing payables; student accounts billing and student fees transfers; financial reporting; maintaining banking relationships; endowment Investments and Banner Student A/R

Work Hours 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m.

Duties

Establishes and maintain strong relationships with community, faculty, staff, students and sponsored vendors through written and verbal communication.
Prepares and bill third party vendors of sponsored students tuition/fees/housing/meals in compliance to certifications received from student or sponsor.
Prepares reconciliations for management review and approval.
Provides accurate and timely feedback to all students regarding inquiries on their student accounts.

Required Competency Problem Solving
Duties

Researches and resolves all student inquiries and problems regarding their student account.
Researches and resolves all inquiries and problems regarding third party billing from vendors and students.
Researching and resolving problems with the reconciliation of third party invoice billing to banner student accounts.
Apply judgment for problem resolutions based on the delegated authority from the supervisor.

Required Competency Financial Program Monitoring and Management
Duties

Must have knowledge of the Banner Student Information System and the Banner Finance System to research and resolve any inquiries and problems presented from students, parents, third party agencies and other university constituents. Knowledge of how other student services offices interface with the student account and billing system. Ability to access and monitor the various Military portals for payment processing and grade reporting to ensure students has met all military qualifications for compliance. Prepares and monitor the reconciliation spreadsheet of all vendors, invoice billing date, and date of collections for monitoring outstanding invoices. Analyzes and prepares various reports and reconciliations for management review and approval.

Duties

Considerable knowledge and use of Banner Finance and Banner Student system.
Possess excellent computer literacy and analytical skills.
Considerable knowledge of excel for spreadsheet reporting and reconciliations.
