• Prior experience as a FIRST volunteer and specifically in the FIRST LEGO League or FIRST Tech Challenge programs is preferred, but not necessary

• Understand and be able to publically present the FIRST mission

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)

• An understanding of office and internet technology and the ability to utilize them

• Ability to manage and supervise others

• Ability to manage projects and meet deadlines

• Ability to collaborate with others; work as a member of a team. Collaborate closely with the Partner and the Regional Planning Team.

Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position

The Regional Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the administration of volunteer management protocols for the entire region (North Carolina), including the recruitment, training, retention, and recognition of volunteers, adherence to all FIRST volunteer management policies, and communications consistency. These individuals work with the Partner (Dr. Kory Bennett) to recruit key leadership volunteers for the Regional Planning Team, support the local Tournament Directors and Volunteer Coordinators with recruitment, messaging, and training, and serve as a resource for the FIRST Volunteer Dashboard, FIRST Volunteer Management System (VMS), and FIRST Youth Protection Program (YPP). This position or the tasks may be shared.
