Position Overview

Primary Purpose of Position

The Assistant Vice Chancellor of Human Resources in partnership with the Vice Chancellor and University Administration plays a pivotal role in strategic leadership and implementing the programs and services for the Division of HR. This role provides operational oversight for the design and implementation of HR metrics and customer service level agreements to monitor and track customer satisfaction.

The Assistant Vice Chancellor’s key areas of functional oversight are: Compensation, Benefits, Temporary/Student Employment and Foreign National, Human Resources Informational Systems (HRIS), and Talent Solutions.

The Assistant Vice Chancellor serves as a direct report to the Vice Chancellor for Human Resources and functions as the chief operational officer within the division and has full authority for decision-making in the absence of the Vice Chancellor.

Minimum Requirements

Master’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field and at least ten (10) year’s of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources administration. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted; excellent communication and presentation skills; computer proficient; and service-oriented, diplomatic and able to delegate and motivate others.
